PROTECTING AND ENHANCING YOUR INVESTMENT IN CONCRETE

BACKGROUND

There were leakages on the terrace through the wall and floor joints, surface and drainage areas despite the felt membrane and the tiles that were laid on it. The screed and felt membrane laid in between the two layers of screed had become very porous allowing water to penetrate and travel underneath and leaking to the reception floor below.

SOLUTION

The existing tiles, screed and the damaged felt membrane beneath the tiles were removed, and the entire terrace floor was waterproofed using the Krystol T1/T2 surface waterproofing systems. Also the entire joints of the concrete were fixed using Krystol crack/joint repair system to render these areas watertight, while pipe penetration points were treated using the specialized Krystol pipe penetration system. After these treatments, the entire surface was re-screeded using our Krystol Mortar Admixture (KMA).

With these treatments, there was no need for any felt membrane or other waterproofing material, as the concrete floor has been waterproofed and guaranteed for the entire life span of the concrete slab.
